Northern California Renaissance Faire 2013

Enjoy five weekends of fun as you travel back to Elizabethan England for the Northern California Renaissance Faire.  The streets and stages boast music and dance from traditional Morris and English Country, to Celtic and Gypsy Tribal. Swashbuckling sword fighters render women defenseless with their charm and skill. Kids will have a great time at the Joust, Equine Show and various stages.

Besides the seven stages filled with entertainment each weekend there will be the ever popular Joust at 12 pm and 3 pm daily, a Celtic Rock concert series on Saturdays at 6 pm, and theme characters such as Queen Elizabeth I,  Sir Frances Drake and William Shakespeare.  There is a lot going on, but the lay out of the stages and events is such that it is easy to navigate the Faire (click here to view a Faire map). Celebrate-Family.com Best Bet:  If you are going to the Joust, go at least 30 minutes prior to get the best seating.  This is a great time to stop and have lunch.  Seating for the joust fills quickly.

Family activities will include Suspended Reality presenting A Midsummer Night's Fantasy; Adventures with Mad Jack and Kate, storytelling from the minds of two lovable lunatics; the Pirate Invasion Weekend (September 28th & 29th) with the annual kids pirate costume contest; Fantasy Weekend (October 12th & 13th) when fairies will abound; and The Magic of Bosch, The Conjurer. Other kid favorites last year were Past Times Do It Yourself Workshops ($5-$25)  a climbing wall ($6)  the Giant Swing, Maypole Carousel, Reptile Petting Zoo, and The Funny Farm Petting Zoo.  These activities cost $3-$6 for participation.
